around these parts you'll also know they're very serious about the custom car & truck scene.
Chris Grantham from London, Ontario is a prime example of what we're talking about. His passion for trucks started ten years ago while at a once renowned car show in Canada. You Canadians may remember "Canadian All Truck Nationals", some may not. Since that day, the desire to build a clean, magazine worthy truck has been his dream. Chris started out with a B-series Mazda, but as we all know shit happens and the truck was mangled in an accident. He quickly jumped into a nice clean bone stock 1990 Toyota pickup and began the tare-down. He was bodydroppin that thing on 20's when that combination of modifications was still rare. Well, with growing adult responsibilities, the truck had to jump to the backseat for a few years.
Years had passed and wedding bells were ringin' right around the corner. Both him and his fiancée agreed that the Toyota should be finished by the wedding so they could drive away into the sunset as newly weds - cans clangin' and rockers draggin'! For the next 11 months; while she planned the wedding, he built the truck. Sounds like a fair deal! Well, with only a few hours left to spare until the wedding he finally finished the truck. Chris and Kayla were pronounced monster and wife, and drove off in a freshly built, magazine worthy, sill layin' Toyota pickup.
Chris has been a part of Prize Possessions truck club out of London, Ontario. It's a smaller club - roughly 10 members active today, but it's more like a family than anything. Club members are there day and night, from the moments when you need a hand on the project, throwing a bash, or even giving birth! They are determined to put Canadia on the map, he says. "We have some projects near completion that are going to drop your jaw."
