Dave had recently finished the Chevy C-10 and it's first show to debut was the second annual Camp n' Drag (2009). Let me tell you something - when people started waking up and getting cleaned up, there was already a love humming about Dave's truck. Throughout the day, there was usually a group of people around the truck shooting picture, pointing, and picking their jaws up off the ground. This truck had a touch no one has really been able to achieve. It had a bit of a classic appeal, yet with a cartoon-like feel.
Well, we felt the truck deserved something more than a lake & campground setting for a feature. Knowing that Dave would be at The RA Show in Millington, TN just a month down the line - we let him know we'd be in contact and plan to shoot! Well, thats exactly what we did - at the USA Stadium in Millington, TN right on the Olympic baseball field. With the approval and interesting history lesson from Director of Operations, John Daigel - we were able to shoot at probably the most perfect spot anyone could EVER shoot this truck. A diamond in the rough. For that history lesson, watch the interview in the video section video.
To set the feature off even more, the ever-so-beautiful Tara Deliberto offered to model. So we all packed up and met up at the diamond. The last time I was on a baseball diamond was back in high school, so I couldn't wait to get there! The weather was perfect, the grass was as green as could be, the skies were blue with not a cloud in sight, and to kick around that Georgia-red dirt...made me feel so honored to have this opportunity in my life. It was pretty special. Touching...I know.
It's a 1968 Chevrolet C-10 that packs one hell of a punch. Bodydropped to the rockers, custom two tone paint with School Bus Yellow on the bottom and Brilliant White on top, a fresh 2004 Chevy Silverado V8 engine under the bonet, a custom one-off interior, and too many exterior modifications to list. Some obvious and some subtle, but so critical; that if the mod's weren't done, the truck wouldn't look the same without. For a real look at the shoot, watch the video below:
